Outdoors on the West Coast can be unpredictable, which is why Brown Bear Sound carries acoustically transparent weatherproof speaker covers, waterproof LED lighting, and a waterproof canopy to keep the show going, no matter the weather.
Loudspeaker systems that can reach in excess of 3,000 heads, high channel counts, powerful and clear monitor systems, digital split and recording capabilities, dozens of microphones, strategic power distribution systems, a variety of powerful mixers and an efficient lighting system round out my inventory.

“Just a few words about the sound system and sound technical services provided by Jeremy Young of Brown Bear Sound at the recent (March 2023) Battle of the [Legal] Bar Bands [VBBB 2023] held at the Da Vinci Centre in Victoria West. It was a full slate of 6 very diverse bands with multiple sound checks and Jeremy arrived early for an extensive set up of his first class sound and light equipment well in advance of the required successive sound checks. After attaining excellent balanced mixes, he locked in their settings to speed up the process once everything was underway. The evening event went seamlessly with Jeremy arising to the occasion for the various bands and their individual instrument issues in switching out their equipment and making any and all adjustments to the mix to provide excellent sound throughout. I would rate his communication skills with all of the various band members as excellent as all were very satisfied with his attention to detail respecting their requests to fine tune balancing the mixes.
I would not hesitate in using Jeremy again both for future VBBB’s as well as any other larger events that I am involved in organizing and would give the strongest possible recommendation for others to consider use of his services.”

“Jeremy with Brown Bear Sound organized & executed all things sound at our wedding on September 25. From when we first got engaged and found Jeremy as an option for sound, to the first dance, Jeremy was there for us and understood our vision. In the planning stages, Jeremy visited the venue with us and a couple other vendors before we even paid a deposit. Once he had checked out the venue, he put together a very comprehensive proposal for us. He worked with us to put it more into our budget and there was never any pressure to add more. We chose to create playlists for the evening, and it was so simple to get these to Jeremy. He set up sound areas at the ceremony location and the reception/dance area. Brown Bear Sound is based in Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. Centrally located to quickly access the Greater Victoria and Cowichan Valley areas, and completely mobile allowing service throughout Vancouver Island & the surrounding Gulf Islands.
We acknowledge that for thousands of years the Quw’utsun, Malahat, Ts’uubaa-asatx, Halal, Penelakut, Stz’uminus, Snaw-Naw-As Le Lum/Nanoose, Snuneymuxw, Tseycum, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tsartlip, Esquimalt, Songhees, T’sou-ke, Scia’new & Lyackson Peoples have tended to this land as their home. We live, work, and learn with constant respect for these nations and their unneeded traditional territories.
